Hi, I’m Mia.
I’m from the bold north. I love to sew garments, and I love to share what I make. Take a look into my closet, and see some of the process I go through to create, refashion, and love my handmade wardrobe. I’m a Minnesota-maker with knack for teaching, cooking, dog walking, and staying cozy.
I live with my husband, Nick, and our two doggos, Monster and Douggie. I started sewing in the fall of 2017 and since then I’ve been making steady progress in creating a handmade wardrobe. I am self-taught, and I come from a strong line of women who were incredibly talented and creative makers. I guess the sewing gene is starting to show. Speaking of genes/jeans, I make a lot of those for Nick too. I love making pants, taking the time to achieve a good fit, and I’m starting to dip my toe into drafting my own patterns. My fabric stash is very conservative, and I hang on to scraps because I despise waste and I know I’ll find a use for them eventually. I’d describe my style as casual, comfortable, and low-key. Quality is queen for me.
I hope you’ll feel welcome here to browse what I’ve made and use it as inspiration to plan your next (or first!) sewing project. Many of my posts will walk you through step by step so you can achieve some of the same looks.
